Drawing and Painting with Artist Mentor Natalia Nakazawa

Rosa working on her musical instrument series – using concentrated watercolors and pencil

Mentees work together priming wood pieces to paint on.

Tanesha working hard!

Rosa wanted to draw from direct observation – so she used a cast hand sculpture to draw from.
Tanesha and Demie beginning to work on their canvasses. They started with vine charcoal – a very light and easy drawing material – and then will continue with building the painted surface from the background to the foreground.

Tanesha’s bear sketch done with pastel – in preparation for her large painting on canvas.
